William M. Fraser, D.V.M.

Dr. Fraser is the owner of two animal hospitals in Mentor, Ohio.  He established Mentor Animal Hospital as a full-service animal hospital in 1988 and Brightwood Animal Hospital in 1993.  In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Fraser is vice president of The Cleveland Academy of Veterinary Medicine.  Additionally, he is a member in good standing of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.  Dr. Fraser was appointed a Joint Master of Foxhounds of the Chagrin Valley Hunt in 2012.  In that position, he serves as the director of hounds and kennel.  He served on the board of directors of OurPet’s Company from 2007 until 2012.  He attends numerous continuing education seminars every year seeking to offer clients’ pets the most current diagnostic and treatment options. 

Dr. Fraser has been a contributing writer to the County Critter Journal and the Weekly Journal and is author of the petEncyclopedia®.  He has made appearances on the Canine Connection on WTAJ Radio, and morning and afternoon talk shows on WEWS Channel 5 and WJW Channel 8.   

Dr. Fraser received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1984, after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from John Carroll University in 1978.

Laura A. Surovi, D.V.M.

Dr. Surovi joined Brightwood Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2005. Previously, she worked as an associate veterinarian at Wickliffe Animal Hospital and at Animal & Avian Medical Center.  She also offered surgical services to the Lake County Humane Society.  She is a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.  Her interests include canine and feline internal medicine, senior pet care, nutrition counseling, and behavioral problems. 

Dr. Surovi received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University, with the distinction of summa cum laude, in 2000.  She is a member of the Psi Chapter of the Phi Zeta Honor Society and has received awards for clinical proficiency in companion animal medicine and excellence in veterinary geriatrics.  She was graduated, with Honors, from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1995.

Kasie M. Podojil, J.D., D.V.M.

Dr. Podojil joined Brightwood Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2010.  Prior to joining Brightwood, she was an emergency veterinarian at Animal Emergency Clinic Northeast and a veterinarian for the Lake County Humane Society.  She is a member in good standing of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and The Ohio State University Veterinary Alumni Society.  Dr. Podojil is a member of the American Pointer Club, the Ohio Hall of Fame Pointer Club, the Border Terrier Club of America, and the Border Terrier Club of Central Ohio.  She participates in conformation and performance events, breed education and rescue, and health advocacy of purebred dogs. 

Dr. Podojil received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2002.  She is a member of Phi Zeta, the national honor society of veterinary medicine, and was honored for co-designing a new logo for The Ohio State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Bond-Centered Education and Practice Program. 

Additionally, she received her Juris Doctor, with the distinction of summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University in 1993.  Dr. Podojil served as an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Geauga County Prosecutor's Office where she represented the Geauga County Department of Human Services in child abuse, neglect, and dependency cases.  She was graduated from Hiram College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with the distinction of summa cum laude, in 1990.  

Amy Wolfgang, D.V.M.

Dr. WolfgangDr. Wolfgang joined Brightwood Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2012. Previously, she worked as a veterinarian and chief of staff at Banfield Pet Hospital.  She is a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Wolfgang serves on the board of directors of Northeast Ohio Greyhound Rescue and is a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio.  Her interests include soft tissue surgery, including laser; dermatology; and, ophthalmology.

Dr. Wolfgang received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, with the distinction of cum laude, in 2003.  She was graduated, with the distinction of magna cum laude, from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology in 1999.  She is an alumni member of The Ohio State University, Miami University, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Omega Tau Sigma.
